A twin lotus flower on one stalk has appeared at Daming Lake in Jinan. It is the first of its kind found in the lake this year.
近日，在大明湖畔南丰祠雨荷厅前的荷花池里惊现一株并蒂莲，这是今年首次在大明湖发现并蒂莲。
The twin lotus flower, known as the "gentleman of flowers", is considered the best variety of lotus flowers by the Chinese as it is believed to bear good meaning.
并蒂莲，有“花中君子”之称，是荷花中的极品。自古以来，并蒂莲就被人们珍视，并被赋予很多美好的寓意。
In ancient literary works, the twin lotus flower is regarded as a symbol of love. It also symbolizes deep brotherly feelings.
在古代文学作品中，并蒂莲被誉为爱情的象征，寓意夫妻恩爱、永结同心、美满幸福，并象征男女爱情缠绵；也有兄弟情同手足，感情深厚之意。
“四面荷花三面柳，一城山色半城湖”
Daming Lake is popular for its lotus flowers, which have been widely planted in the lake as early as the Wei and Jin dynasties (220-420).
大明湖与荷花有着千年之缘，据考证，早在魏晋时期，大明湖已经开始广泛种植荷花。
The lake is now home to nearly 20 lotus flower fields accessible to visitors. This year's Lotus Flowers Art Festival is also underway, providing a lotus horticulture art feast. It will run to Aug 5.
目前，这里除了新发现的并蒂莲，湖中还有近20处荷田供大家欣赏，另外济南第三十五届荷花艺术节也正在举行，并一直持续到8月5日。喜欢荷花的游客，千万不要错过。
The twin lotus flower is located at the Nanfeng Temple, which is open from 8:00 to 17:30 every day.
并蒂莲位于南丰祠，南丰祠每天的开放时间为：8:00-17:30，请市民游客妥善安排好观赏时间。
